Discovering young artists: Elise Bertrand & Gaspard Thomas
The programme presented by Elise Bertrand and Thomas Gaspard highlights works for violin and piano from a variety of styles and periods, from the unmissable Mozart to Grazyna Bacewicz, a 20th-century Polish composer. The eclecticism of the programme demonstrates the artistic diversity and impressive technical mastery of both artists.
Elise Bertrand, nominated at the 2024 Victoires de la Musique Classique in the 'Instrumental Soloist Revelation' category, is also a composer and performer with an exceptional career record. Her passion for the lesser-known repertoire and contemporary music is reflected in her artistic commitment.
In 2023, Gaspard Thomas was awarded Third Prize and two special prizes at the Szymanowski Competition in Katowice, Poland. He is also a laureate of the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky and has been artist-in-residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac since 2021. An excellent chamber musician, he frequently collaborates with Elise Bertrand, testifying to a strong artistic complicity. Here, they offer us a programme worthy of their talents!
