Adélaïde Ferrière, Percussions

Described as ‘A Phenomenon’ by the newspaper Le Monde, Adélaïde Ferrière embodies the arrival of percussion on the classical scene (Le Figaro).

During the 24-25 season, she will make her debut with the Orchestre National de France under the direction of Matthias Pintscher, then with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, the Brno Philharmonic, and as an associate artist of the Dijon Bourgogne Orchestra. Recitals in France, Austria, Italy, Germany, the United States and the Czech Republic complete this season.

Based in Paris, the musician performs on renowned stages such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Auditorium de Radio-France, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Comédie Française, the Opéra National de Paris, the Snow Concert Hall, the Philharmonie du Luxembourg, the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, the Rainier III Auditorium in Monaco as well as the Salzburger Festspiele, Festival Présences, Un Violon sur le Sable, the Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, Festival d'Automne, Festival de Pâques, Festival Berlioz, the Folle Journée de Nantes and the Variations Musicales de Tannay. In particular, she has collaborated as a soloist with the Radio-France Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Sir George Benjamin, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, the musicians of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre de l'Opéra National de Lorraine, the Latvian Chamber Orchestra, the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Toulon, the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté and the Orchestre de chambre Nouvelle-Aquitaine. In 2022, she is also an associate artist of the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie.

Her concerts and masterclasses have taken her to Germany, England, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, the United States, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Switzerland & Taiwan and have been broadcast on Arte, Medici. tv, CultureBox, France Télévisions, France Musique and Radio Classique.

Very involved in the contemporary repertoire, the percussionist has participated in more than fifty world premieres and worked with composers such as Philippe Hurel, Martin Matalon, Camille Pépin, Hugues Dufourt, Mikaël Karlsson, François Meïmoun, and many others.

In 2012, at the age of 15, Adélaïde Ferrière joined the class of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she obtained her Master's degree with the congratulations of the jury in 2017. She also studied at the Royal College of Music in London in 2016. In 2017, she was named ‘Revelation Instrumental Soloist’ at the 24th Victoires de la Musique Classique and became the first percussionist to be nominated at the ceremony.

Her first album, Contemporary, was released by the label Evidence Classics in 2020 and was acclaimed by critics (Le Choix de France Musique, Joker Crescendo Découverte, Sélection Le Monde, Sélection Le Figaro, 4 **** BBC Music Magazine). She also records for the labels Mirare (Messiaen: Des Canyons aux Étoiles), Sony Classical (New York, Thibault Cauvin) and Présences Compositrices (Aether by Camille Pépin).

Adélaïde Ferrière is a Yamaha and Kolberg Artist. She is also supported by Adami, the Safran Foundation for Music, the Engelberts Swiss Foundation for Arts and Culture, and the Singer-Polignac Foundation, where she is in residence with the Xenakis Trio.
