All the concerts during the Colmar International Festival are given in historical buildings where the enchantment of the location reinforces listening intensity. With modest seating capacities these auditoriums allow the public to fully experience this rather exceptional ambiance, full of warmth and authenticity, and be as close to the musicians as possible. For almost two weeks, the heart of Colmar beats to the rhythm of festival events. As you walk around, if you happen to cross paths with renowned soloists and orchestra musicians enjoying the precious treasures the old town has to offer, you will be convinced that Colmar and its festival are definitely worth the detour.

Roesselmann Hall (14th -15th century)

29 Grand’Rue Capacité de 200 places Les « Midi trente du Festival » Concerts à 12h30 1 heure de musique, sans entracte Achevé en 1480, cet ancien centre douanier symbolisait la puissance économique de la ville. Pendant les quinze premiers jours de juillet, il devient la « maison du Festival » (concerts, renseignements, vente de billets, exposition, conférences, écoutes musicales).

Municipal Theatre of Colmar

Built from 1847, the theatre was inaugurated on 8 March 1849. Inspired by classicism, the theatre has an Italian-style interior, the work of the Parisian artist-decorator Boulangé. Enlarged in 1902, it was then the subject of a restoration campaign from 1999 to 2000.

Recently restored, this former Franciscan Church is a remarkable example of gothic architecture of the mendicant orders. Its exceptional acoustics offers the public a privileged environment for the sumptuous recitals or the symphonies of the program.
