Federico Altare, flute
Federico's musical training and profession have taken him to some of Europe's most prestigious institutions. After a period of study in Italy, he began his musical studies at the CODARTS Rotterdam Conservatorium, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in flute under the tutelage of Juliette Hurel, Julie Moulin, Wim Steinmann and Joséphine Olech. Federico then studied with Sophie Cherrier at the prestigious Paris Conservatoire, where he obtained his master's degree with flying colours, unanimously and with congratulations from the jury. Federico is currently continuing his studies with a doctorate in performance (DAI soloist programme), where he is developing his own artistic project under the guidance of eminent figures from the Conservatoire, while at the same time taking his bachelor's course in Traverso and early music, under the tutelage of Jan De Winne.
Federico was also honoured to be a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, took part in the Academy of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and experienced the Ensemble Intercontemporain as a trainee. His artistic career has taken him to the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, where he has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral member. He has demonstrated his talent by taking part in competitions such as the ARD Music Competition in Munich, the Geneva International Competition and the Carl Nielsen Flute Competition in Odense.
