Lucas Ispir, Violin
Artist in residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Élisabeth under the tutelage of Augustin Dumay, Luka Ispir discovered the art of the violin in Rouen at an early age with an uncommon appetite. At the age of 14, he left his home town for Paris, where he was able to benefit from the advice of the most eminent teachers.
He took a keen interest in chamber music, and in 2016 helped form the Philia Trio, with whom he has performed at numerous festivals in France and abroad (Festival d'Auvers-sur-Oise, Musique de chambre à Giverny, Festival Opus Amadeus, Forum Musical de Normandie...).
Noted for the originality of his musical choices, Luka Ispir has appeared as soloist with the Orchestre de Normandie, the Appassionato Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Accademia della Scala in Milan.
As a chamber musician, he has been invited to the European Chamber Music Academy for the Pablo Casals Festival, the Giverny Chamber Music Festival, the Académie Jaroussky, the Rencontres Musicales d'Evian, the Kronberg Academy and the Salle Cortot Chamber Music Centre in Paris.
Recognised by his peers for his virtuosity and remarkable sensitivity, in 2015 and 2017 he won the national and international Vatelot-Rampal and Jeune Talent normand competitions, as well as second prize at the Vittorio Veneto international competition in Italy in 2021.
After graduating with flying colours from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris with soloist Olivier Charlier as his teacher, Luka Ispir completed his musical studies at the highly prestigious Hanns Eisler School in Berlin in the class of Stephan Picard.
Luka Ispir plays on a magnificent violin by the famous maker Pressenda, generously loaned by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.
Luka benefits from a scholarship offered by an anonymous donor.
