Ludwig Quartet: Romantic Bows
Sébastien Surel, Manuel Doutrelant, violins
Violaine Despeyroux, viola
Anne Copéry, cello
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its foundation, the prestigious Ludwig Quartet invites us to dive into the heart of its favourite repertoire: Beethoven and Schubert.
With the German's very first String Quartet, a new world is created. Heir to Mozart and Haydn, Beethoven immediately establishes himself as one of the geniuses to be reckoned with.
As for the Viennese composer, he leaves us with his Rosamunde, the penultimate of his string quartets (and the only one he published during his lifetime!), a deeply moving piece of inventiveness and emotion. A programme not to be missed.
Program
L.v Beethoven, Quatuor à cordes n° 1 en fa majeur, opus 18 (28’)
F. Schubert, Quatuor à cordes no 13 en la mineur, D. 804 (op. 29) « Rosamunde » (30’)
