Young Talents Cycle: Masaki Morishita

Violin : Masaki Morishita

Through Eugène Ysaÿe's Sonatas for Solo Violin and Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst's Six Studies for Several Parts, Masaki Morishita explores the fascinating art of polyphony on the violin, where a single instrument creates the illusion of multiple voices.

Trained in Japan and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in Olivier Charlier's class, Masaki Morishita is renowned for the sincerity of his playing and the richness of his sound palette.

His rigour and artistic excellence have earned him the Safran Foundation Prize for Music 2024 and selection for the Lili and Nadia Boulanger 2024/2025 promotion of the Jaroussky Academy.

In France and internationally, he performs both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles and currently plays a 1698 Giovanni Grancino violin.
