Mira Marie Foron, Violin
Violinist Mira Foron made her debut at the age of 14 at Zurich's Tonhalle in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. Her playing has been described as "beyond technical brilliance". She is currently studying with Julia Fischer at the Musikhochschule in Munich.
She was chosen to represent Germany at the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in Edinburgh. In the final, Mira played with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Thomas Dausgaard.
She has given recitals at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Copenhagen Summer Festival, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Göteborgs Konserthus and the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie with the string orchestra of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
She has performed the Sibelius concerto with the Ukrainian National Orchestra and the world premiere of Fazil Say's cadenza from Beethoven's violin concerto in a production by the West German Broadcasting Corporation in Cologne.
Mira was invited by Anne Sophie Mutter to perform as "Mutter's Virtuoso" at her jubilee concerts at the Salzburger Festspiele and the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden.
She is a scholarship holder of the Mozart Gesellschaft Dortmund and the Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben.
She will shortly be performing at the Gezeiten Festival, the Verbier Festival, the Krzyzowa Chamber Festival Beethovenfest Bonn and, next season, with the Dortmunder Philharmoniker under Martijn Dendievel, the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz under Marcus Bosch, the Philharmonie de chambre française, the Filharmonica de Stat Moldova under his brother Nicolò Foron, and the Staatsorchester Stuttgart under Cornelius Meister.
