Anastasya Terenkova was born in Moscow. She began playing the piano at the age of 6 at the famous Gnessine's Special Music School for gifted children in Moscow. In 2001, she was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire in the class of Georges Pludermacher and François-Frédéric Guy, followed by Jacques Rouvier (piano) and Itamar Golan (chamber music).
Also at the Paris Conservatoire, with Jacques Rouvier, she was unanimously awarded first prize in the Cycle de Perfectionnement de Piano, and in 2009 entered the Cycle de Doctorat Diplôme d'Artiste Interprète.
Anastasya Terenkova has won several international piano competitions, including the Cincinnati International World Piano Competition (Cincinnati, USA), 2nd Prize; the Dorothy MacKenzie Artist Recognition Award (New York, USA), 1st Prize; and the prestigious Gawon International Music Award. Anastasya has taken part in numerous master classes with Vladimir Krainev, Dmitri Bashkirov, Philippe Bianconi, Aldo Ciccolini and Christophe Eschenbach, and has also regularly followed the advice of Professor Rena Shereshevskaya. An accomplished soloist, Anastasya is also a dedicated chamber musician. She has collaborated with Gilles Apap, Jérôme Ducros, Michel Michalakakos, Laurent Naouri, Ensemble Musique Oblique, Pavel Gomziakov, Tatiana Samouil, Johannes Fleischmann, Sergei dreznin, Natalia Tchitch and Georgi Anichenko.
She has recorded Rachmaninov's Third Concerto with the Conservatoire Graduates Orchestra. She can be heard alongside David Guerrier, Fazil Say and Denis Matsuev on the CD Souvenirs de l'Opus 28 LIVE, featuring the highlights of the 28th Auvers-sur-Oise International Music Festival. She has taken part in numerous radio and television programmes, notably on France Musique, Ariel Buteaux's Le Mardi Idéal, Lionel Esparza's Le Magazine, and Gaëlle le Gallic's Dans la Cours des Grands. In June 2016, Eve Ruggieri devoted her entire programme ‘Eve Ruggieri raconte’ on Radio Classique to Anastasya Terenkova. Her first CD is devoted to works by Scarlatti, Chopin and Mussorgsky.
Anastasya performs regularly in France, notably at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Salle Gaveau, the Musée d'Orsay, the Auditorium du Louvre, the Cité de la Musique and the Salle Cortot. She takes part in numerous festivals in France (Annecy music festival, Auvers-sur-Oise festival, ‘Les Solistes a Bagatelle’, ‘Festival Chopin à Paris’, ‘Festival de musique de Menton’, ‘Piano aux Jacobins’ in Toulouse, Périgord Noir, Liszt en Provence, Festival de Nohant) and abroad (‘Le Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo’, ‘International Keyboard Institute and Festival’ in New-York, ‘Myra Hess Concert Series’ in Chicago, Bluthner Piano Series in Leipzig, Trestler Music Series in Montreal, Palau de les Arts Reina Sophia in Valencia, King's Place Music Festival in London, Helsinki Art Center, Auditorio National de Madrid, Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, Ljubljana Music Festival, Emilia Romagna Music Festival, Mittlefest) She gives master classes in Paris International piano master classes, International Keyboard Festival and Institute/IKIF at Mannes College in New York, at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
In 2016 Anastasya was invited by Hollywood star John Malkovich to take part in his project ‘The Report on the Blind’, combining on stage the performance of Alfred Schnittke's concerto for piano and string orchestra with the reading of an excerpt from Ernesto Sabato's novel ‘Heroes and Tombs’. Currently on a world tour, the ‘Report on the Blind’ project has already proved a big hit with audiences and international critics alike.
Anastasya has recently performed with ISolisti Aquilani, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Sudwestfalen Pilharmonie, Varazdin Chamber Orchestra, Obudai Danubia Zenekar Chamber Orchestra at Bozar in Brussels, Lisinski Hall in Zagreb, Budapest Congress Hall, Old City Market Hall in Bratislava, ‘Baltic Music Season’, International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York, ‘Palermo Classica’ festival, ‘Les Solistes à Bagatelle’ in Paris, ‘Les Concertinis’ at the Opera Royale in Brussels and others.
