A rich and exciting journey that takes us where no musician has gone before...
The Janoska Ensemble is made up of three brothers, Ondrej, František and Roman Janoska, from Bratislava, and their brother-in-law Julius Darvas. Each of the musicians has undergone prize-winning solo classical training at the highest level, and the musical tradition has been deeply rooted in their family for more than six generations.
But what exactly is ‘Janoska style’? Classical works arranged differently, influences that carry over into today's music, with an art of improvisation that is often forgotten in classical music. This style, which breaks with all genres and turns the world of classical music upside down, appears to be an original musical vision created jointly by the members of the group: a blend of classical, jazz and pop elements... a true creative synthesis whose finest qualities are revealed on stage.
The Slovakian group gives an average of over 100 concerts a year in all the world's leading venues and festivals.
They record with Deutsche Grammophon. In 2016, their debut album ‘Janoska Style’ was immediately acclaimed by the press and quickly won awards. In 2019, their album REVOLUTION will be released, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios in London. In 2022, ‘The Big B's’ was also a huge success,
