Young Talent Cycle: Anchi Mai
A Taiwanese pianist based in Paris and trained at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse under Frank Braley, Anchi Mai has an international career spanning recitals, concerts with orchestras and chamber music.
A prize-winner in numerous international competitions, she is distinguished by her expressive playing and great musical depth.
This concert juxtaposes Scriabin's First Sonata, a cry of rebellion against fate, with Liszt's Sonata in B minor, a monumental fresco driven by an intense spiritual quest. In dialogue with each other, these two works trace a path from darkness to light, between drama and elevation.
